Saturday 06JUL13 Coongoola Day Cruise

Today the girls cruised the beautiful area of Moso on board the Coongoola.  They had a stop at the turtle sanctuary Tranquillity Beach where they got the opportunity to hold some turtles.

      Your girls had a French lesson today before enjoying a treat at the local

French Patisserie..  Le Peche Mignon.  They a traditional French dish of "Vanilla Fish"

before picking their favourite desert.  Wish I was there!! Then they enjoyed free time

to explore the local area and marketplace.

                                              Remote Village Walking Tour

                              Today Students enjoyed a Village Walking Tour and spent time
                                     with students of St Jean-Paul Vianney's primary School.

They had nothing, they gave it all. We arrived to smiling faces and were welcomed with open arms. After prayer and a formal introduction, all the children sang for us. Each class introduced the special dish they had prepared for us. We then read, played and sang with the students and connected with many in a very special way.   We were treated like honoured guests, and ate Lap Lap and other ethnic dishes all  done by the children since 7:30am!  After lunch, we endeavoured to paint 130 faces, and soon enough there were cats, tigers, flowers girls and butterflies coming to life. Torrential rain did not stop us running after the soccer in the mud. All in all a fun and very moving day!

Lycee Lab School Visit

The girls spent the afternoon enjoying an Ecotour of Lololima Waterfalls.  After their return they tried a French Speciality...escargot!

Here are some comments from some of the students about day two of their tour......

A day of learning about a new culture, it's history, it's language and customs.  Great French lesson this morning about Vanuatu followed by a tour of the market.  We learned about the women who stay at the market all week with there babies there.  Lunch in town and then time to shop!  Very instructive tour of a special museum with Father Michel.
And the fabulous evening with traditional food and entertainment.  We danced and sang and had a great time.:)
